In what looms as a busy summer transfer window for Manchester City, it does feel imperative that City complete some of their transfer business as quickly as possible. Many areas of Pep Guardiola’s squad need strengthening. The quicker that City can wrap up one signing, they can then move on to the next. It seems that Manchester City’s move for Tijjani Reijnders could be the first domino to fall this summer. Now, a new report indicates that Manchester City’s move for Tijjani Reijnders is reportedly nearing completion.
Marco Conterio has reported for Tuttomercatoweb that Tijjani Reijnders will likely leave AC Milan soon. Furthermore, Conterio reports that it appears that Reijnders is set to join Manchester City. It is included in Conterio’s report that the deal that will see Reijnders move to the Etihad will have a base transfer fee of €60 million. The deal could rise to €70 million due to bonuses that could potentially be met. Lastly, Conterio reports that Pep Guardiola has urged Hugo Viana to complete a deal for Tijjani Reijnders as quickly as possible.
Based on Marco Conterio’s new report, it appears that Manchester City’s move to sign Tijjani Reijnders from AC Milan is coming along. As mentioned above, the quicker City can complete their first deal of the summer they can move on to the next. There is also the possibility that Reijnders could participate in the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup for Pep Guardiola’s side. That would be ideal for a player such as Reijnders. Typically, it takes midfielders more time to adjust to life in a Pep Guardiola team. Rodri is an example of this. So if Manchester City can sign the Dutch international and he can feature at the Club World Cup that is a win for Manchester City.
It now appears that Manchester City’s first deal of the summer is edging closer. Signing Tijjani Reijnders would be a massive win for Manchester City. They’d be adding the type of midfielder they’re screaming out for and they may be able to integrate him into Pep Guardiola’s squad as quickly as possible.
