Lucas Chevalier has not played since 23 January, and PSG’s busy week could open the door. According to L'Équipe, Luis Enrique has not signalled any change before PSG vs Nantes on Wednesday and Angers vs PSG on Saturday.

After Sunday’s 1-2 loss to Lyon, Enrique said rotation would continue. PSG face Nantes at 19:00 on Wednesday, then Angers at 19:00 on Saturday.

No goalkeeping switch has been announced, and Enrique tends to decide late. In January Chevalier learned two hours before kick-off that Matveï Safonov would start. For now, there is no certainty he will feature at Nantes.

Éric Allibert, Toulouse’s goalkeeping coach and Chevalier’s former mentor at Lille, says a start now would make sense. He argues Chevalier has not lost his qualities, it would also aid Safonov, and the 24-year-old has the mentality not to disappoint.

Enrique has stressed the importance of attitude when you are not playing. Chevalier has kept a low profile despite losing his status.

Chevalier is said to be in good spirits and focused on preparation. He is under contract until 2030, and PSG have given no guidance on his future. Costil believes he has the talent to be PSG’s goalkeeper, while he was third choice on March’s United States tour and staff valued his training week, which could weigh on an early June decision.
