A São Paulo youth court has ordered Corinthians to halt the display of Fatal Fans branding across club assets, issuing a preliminary injunction.
According to Globo.com, the ruling came from the Tatuapé Children and Youth Court following a case brought by the state Public Prosecutor’s Office. The club has 15 days to remove the sponsor from kits, venues, digital channels and other areas.
The judge also ordered effective age verification to restrict access by children and adolescents to the sponsor’s website. The case is under judicial secrecy.
The court found the platform’s advertising reaches a significant youth audience, and noted that widespread exposure at the club presents a concrete risk to the emotional integrity, dignity and healthy development of minors.
Fatal Fans declined to comment. Corinthians said it had not yet been notified of the decision.
Corinthians agreed the adult subscription platform deal in June, worth R$ 22 million, with the company’s logo placed on the shorts.
In September the club switched the side of the logo after a formal complaint from Nike, its kit supplier, which did not want the mark on the same side as its own. The club has faced criticism over the sponsor’s nature despite internal consultation across departments, including the women’s programme.
