Coventry City have completed the signing of Ghana midfielder Caleb Yirenkyi from Danish side Nordsjaelland in a £26m deal.
The 21-year-old, who joins after impressing during his time in Denmark, has signed a long-term deal at the club.
“I’ve heard so much about it and I really feel positive about being here,” Yirenkyi said.
“When I spoke to the Head Coach about the plans and the style, it’s something I really like, and I look forward to learning from him.
“I want to give my best to the team each and every day. I’m still young so I want to learn from the Head Coach, the other players and work really hard for the team.
“I’ve also heard a lot about the fans, they’re incredible and I can’t wait to play in front of them.”
The Sky Blues are also still in talks over a potential return for Gustavo Hamer.
Hamer previously enjoyed a successful spell at Coventry before joining Sheffield United and has now entered the final year of his contract at Bramall Lane.
Coventry have made an approach for the Brazil international, with Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder confirming that a bid has been received and is being considered by the club’s owners.
The Blades are reluctant to allow Hamer to leave for a cut-price fee, particularly having paid a significant amount to sign him three years ago, but his contract situation means they face a decision over whether to cash in this summer.
