Lampard has successfully guided the CBS Arena outfit back to the top flight following a 25-year wait, which has attracted external admirers.

Coventry won 95 points in the Championship this season, 11 more than second-place Ipswich Town, demonstrating the great work their manager has done.

Lampard previously managed in the Premier League with both Chelsea and Everton, and he is now tasked with steering the Sky Blues to top-flight safety next term.

Lampard's decision to join Coventry in November 2024 to restore his managerial reputation was a risky one, as his predecessor, Mark Robins, established legendary status at the CBS Arena despite ultimately being sacked.

The current Sky Blues boss enjoyed a largely successful campaign with Derby County in his first season as a manager, guiding the Rams to the Championship play-off final in 2019.

He subsequently joined Chelsea that summer, but went on to endure a turbulent time in the Premier League with both the Stamford Bridge outfit and Everton, who sacked him in January 2023.

However, thanks to his Championship title-winning exploits with Coventry, former England midfielder Lampard has once again become one of the most talked-about managers in the country.

Meanwhile, discussing whether the 47-year-old could leave the Sky Blues, Dublin told talkSPORT: "I don’t think it’s difficult for him to stay with Coventry this (next) season.

"I don’t think he would jump ship. I don’t think he’s that kind of manager. Hopefully, Coventry stay up, and they might nick 17th, 16th. Who cares what it is?

"If they stay in the Premier League, it’s very much an achievement. He’ll probably want to build on it. It’s what turns his head."

According to The Sun, Crystal Palace have eyed Lampard, while Coventry owner Doug King is aware that he may not have the financial resources to keep his club in the Premier League.

Meanwhile, Dublin also told talkSPORT whether he thinks Lampard could become England boss one day: "I wouldn’t see why not. He’s a young British coach, and I think we need more of them.

"More of them need to be given a chance, more of them need to be given longer within the game. With Frank doing what he’s done at Coventry, I was there for the last game of the season, and the place was bouncing, it was noisy. He’s got the fans in the palm of his hand.

"They are happy to jump on Frank’s bandwagon, and the players are doing the same."

Current England boss Thomas Tuchel is under contract with the national side until the end of the 2028 European Championship.

However, if the Three Lions fail to perform well in this summer's World Cup, the FA could consider the German's future, while his initial contract was set to expire this summer.

England are set to face Croatia, Ghana, and Panama in the World Cup group stage, following warm-up clashes with New Zealand and Costa Rica in Florida.

Coventry City's summer transfer window activity is vital for Frank Lampard's long-term future

As Dublin alluded to, Lampard is unlikely to leave Coventry in a rush, as he has built up a strong affinity with the Sky Blues, having guided them back to the Premier League.

However, the former Chelsea boss will be aware of the attention he has attracted from bigger clubs, and could eventually depart the CBS Arena.

Meanwhile, despite King's lack of financial power compared to many rival Premier League owners, the Sky Blues owner must back Lampard in the transfer market.

According to Alan Nixon via Patreon, Coventry have eyed a move for Aston Villa midfielder Ross Barkley ahead of the summer transfer window.

Barkley previously worked under Lampard at Chelsea, while he has also earned further Premier League experience with Everton, Luton Town, and Villa.

Signing the former Hatters man could go some way to helping ensure that Lampard remains happy at the CBS Arena.
