There’s a massive game in the Championship tonight as Coventry host Middlesbrough in a battle between the division’s top two.
Coventry’s significant lead at the top has been wiped out after a downturn in form, with Middlesbrough surging past the Sky Blues in the promotion race.
Frank Lampard’s side welcome the league leaders this evening, knowing a win will take them back above Boro. It’s a high-stakes showdown as both teams chase promotion back to the Premier League after long periods away.
Kim Hellberg’s Middlesbrough side are the Championship’s form team. The visitors have won six straight league games heading into tonight’s clash.
Frank Lampard has limited issues heading into this one, though Ephron Mason-Clark remains sidelined. The forward is absent with a foot issue and joins long-term absentee Oliver Dovin in the treatment room for Coventry.
Having won just two of their last eight in the league, Lampard could make some changes for this one. Ellis Simms, Yang Min-hyeok and Jack Rudoni will all hope to come back into the XI after starting the goalless draw with Oxford from the bench.
Coventry predicted XI: Rushworth; Van Ewijk, Woolfenden, Latibeaudiere, Dasilva; Torp, Grimes; Sakamoto, Eccles, Esse; Wright.
Coventry vs Middlesbrough will kick off at the Coventry Building Society Arena at 8pm on Monday 16th February 2026.
Viewers in the UK can watch the game live on Sky Sports Football.
