Coventry City are on fire this season, hitting a remarkable 40 goals in their first 15 Championship matches - the most any team has scored in that period since the EFL rebrand in 2004/05.
They edge past previous high-fliers like Fulham (36 goals in 2021/22) and Wolves (35 in 2008/09). Interestingly, most teams with prolific starts went on to secure promotion, with only Reading (2008/09) and West Brom (2018/19) failing to go up
Last Saturday, the Sky Blues stretched their lead at the top with a late strike from Ephron Mason-Clark, his third of the season, in a 3-1 win at Stoke City.
The goal, a stunning acrobatic finish after a long throw from Ellis Simms, ensured the Sky Blues left the bet365 Stadium with all three points, extending their lead to five points.
Under Frank Lampard, Coventry have bounced back impressively from a first defeat at Wrexham. With fans dreaming of Premier League football for the first time in 24 years, their goal-scoring form is giving supporters plenty of reason to be optimistic.
