Cristian Casseres, Charlie Cresswell, Aron Dönnum: Olivier Cloarec determined to keep Toulouse’s key men this window | OneFootball

Toulouse aim to keep their core intact this month, with president Olivier Cloarec resisting bids as Nice visit on Saturday at 19:00.

According to The Athletic, Wolfsburg have offered €18m for Charlie Cresswell, 23, but Toulouse favour holding the England Under-21 defender until summer.

Sevilla’s €8m bid for Cristian Casseres has already been rejected. The 25-year-old Venezuela international, contracted to 2027, still wants a step up and Genoa are said to be monitoring him.

The window had seemed calm after Pape Demba Diop arrived on loan from Strasbourg, with no option to buy, to cover Francis Abu’s cruciate injury. He impressed in the Coupe de France at Angers, a 1-1 draw settled 6-5 on penalties.

Toulouse value Cresswell at €20m or more and see potential summer bidders in Dortmund, Chelsea and possibly OM, which could enable a record deal, but not before.

Aron Dönnum remains at the club despite a firm rumour sending him to Blackburn, which was swiftly dismissed. After an early-November incident against Le Havre, a move closer to his pregnant wife, Manchester United’s Celin Bizet, could appeal.

Frank Magri, Warren Kamanzi and Djibril Sidibé are all out of contract in June and are not expected to go this month. Magri, back from the Africa Cup of Nations, has declined several extension offers.
