Cristian Garay to officiate Macará v Santos Sudamericana second leg | OneFootball

Chilean referee Cristian Garay will take charge of Macará v Santos in Ecuador on Thursday at 19:00 at Bella Vista, the second leg of the Copa Sudamericana round of 16.

According to Diario Do Peixe, his assistants will be compatriots Carlos Poblete and Wladimir Muñoz, while Rodrigo Carvajal will oversee VAR.

Garay has previously handled two Santos matches. He oversaw the 5-0 win against The Strongest at Vila Belmiro in the Libertadores on 4 May 2021, then the 1-1 draw with Recoleta of Paraguay, at Estádio Rio Parapití, in the Sudamericana in May this year.

According to Transfermarkt, he has officiated across the Chilean league, Copa Chile, Club World Cup, Copa América, World Cup, South American Under-17, Saudi league and qualifiers, totalling 253 matches, 1053 yellow cards, 25 dismissals for two bookings, 56 straight reds and 68 penalties.

Garay is 37 and FIFA-listed.
