Cristian “Kily” González set to take charge at Inter Miami | OneFootball

Cristian “Kily” González arrived in South Florida today and is set to take charge of Inter Miami.

The club said in a statement that, after completing the necessary work documentation, he will assume his responsibilities as first-team head coach on a contract running through June 2028.

With Inter Miami preparing to face Mexican side CD Cruz Azul in the Campeones Cup on Wednesday night, González will oversee his first training session this morning as preparations begin. The fixture is due to be his first on the touchline as the club chases more silverware.

The Argentine began coaching with Rosario Central’s reserves, spending two seasons before promotion to the first team. He managed 68 matches across three seasons from 2020 through 2022.

González then led Unión Santa Fe, taking charge of 78 matches across three campaigns from 2023 through 2025. He most recently served as head coach of CA Platense during the 2025 season.

A former midfielder, he came through Rosario Central’s youth ranks and made his professional debut in 1993. After a stint with Boca Juniors, he moved to Europe in 1996 with Spanish side Real Zaragoza.

He later represented Valencia and Inter Milan, lifting the Spanish Super Cup in 1999-00, two Coppa Italia titles in 2004-05 and 2005-06, and the 2005-06 Serie A crown. Internationally, he won 56 caps for Argentina and was part of the squad that took gold at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens.
