Cristian Orozco is set to fly into the United Kingdom in the coming days to complete his move to Manchester United.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Red Devils will pay £755,000 to Fortaleza for the 17-year-old wonderkid.
Orozco hasn’t made his senior debut for the Brazilian club, but he is already regarded as one of the brightest young talents in South America.
He impressed with his displays for Colombia at the South American Under-17 Championship earlier this year.
The teenager also garnered praise for his performances during the Under-17 World Cup, where his country lost 2-0 to France in the knockout stage.
Orozco mainly plays as a defensive midfielder, which is a position United must strengthen. He could become an important player over the next few years.
United previously missed the opportunity to sign Moises Caicedo from Independiente del Valle for just £5m.
Caicedo was picked up by Brighton & Hove Albion before his big-money transfer to Chelsea in 2023. The Ecuadorian is now regarded as one of the best midfielders in the Premier League.
However, United’s transfer strategy appears to have improved since co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe started overseeing football operations at the club.
