Cristian Tello retires from professional football at 35 | OneFootball

Cristian Tello has retired from professional football at 35, the Spaniard announced on Sunday. He spent two seasons at Porto on loan from Barcelona in 2014/15 and 2015/16.

The player said in a post that it was time to say goodbye after many years, many matches and difficult moments, adding that football had given him everything and memories he would carry for life.

He thanked team-mates, coaches, club staff, friends and, above all, his family. Tello said he leaves with calm, believing he gave everything to the sport, and with great pride in the journey.

He added that his chapter as a professional ends, but what football taught him stays. He cited career totals of 512 games, 91 goals and experience in six countries.

For Porto, Tello recorded 10 goals and 10 assists in 47 appearances.
