Cristiano Ronaldo has beaten Ali Daei’s record to become the all-time leading goalscorer in men’s international football.

Fresh off the back of his return to Manchester United, Ronaldo has claimed one of the greatest individual records in the game.

His 89th minute header against the Republic of Ireland in their 2022 World Cup qualifier means the 36-year-old has now netted 110 times for his country – a new record.

And then he added another one in the 95th minute with a header to give the Selecao a 2-1 win.

Ronaldo has some way to go to beat the all-time record however, with Christine Sinclair having netted 187 times for Canada.
