Speaking to the media ahead of Portugal’s UEFA Nations League final against Spain, Cristiano Ronaldo has hailed Barcelona wonderkid Lamine Yamal.

The 17-year-old, in a short span of time, has laid the claim to be one of the best in the world currently and will get a chance to go up against one of the greatest of all time tomorrow in the Nations League final.

And Ronaldo had words of praise for the Barcelona and Spain winger, claiming that Lamine had no shortage of talent.

“Lamine Yamal is doing very well, taking advantage of his talent. Let the kid grow,” said the Real Madrid legend, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.

“Don’t put too much pressure on him. Let him be and grow well, take the pressure off. He has no shortage of talent,” the Portugal captain added.

This is not the first time that Ronaldo has spoken highly of Lamine, having previously named the Barcelona academy product a candidate to win the Ballon d’Or in the future.

The teenage winger was the star of the show for Spain as they defeated France 5-4 in the semi-finals earlier this week, scoring two goals.

Now, he will be eager to repeat a similar performance in the finals against Portugal and lead La Roja to the Nations League title, which could further boost his chances for the Ballon d’Or this year.

As far as Portugal are concerned, they beat Germany 2-1 in their semi-final encounter, with Ronaldo scoring the match-winning goal.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner, in the final phase of his career, will be gunning to lift a major international trophy with his national team tomorrow.
