Real Madrid icon Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed that, had things played out a little differently, he could well have found himself lining out for Los Blancos’ most bitter rivals.

Frontman Ronaldo this week sat down or an in-depth interview with El Chiringuito TV.

During the discussion, the veteran goalscorer was drawn on a whole host of topics, relating to his time in Europe, Saudi Arabia and more.

And one particular revelation on Ronaldo’s part has since piqued widespread attentions across the football world.

This comes after the Portuguese admitted that, prior to departing his home country for Manchester United all the way back in 2003, he was approached by none other than Barcelona.

In quotes cited by Fabrizio Romano, CR7 confirmed:

“I could have played for Barça before Manchester United. I was at Sporting, they tried to sign me. They wanted me but one year after… Then Manchester United appeared.”
