Cristiano Ronaldo has suggested the 2026-27 season may be his last at the top level. The 41-year-old outlined his thinking in a recent interview.

"This is probably my last year of football, and I want to leave a spectacular legacy," he told Vogue.

"I have my future all mapped out. I have so many things to keep me busy that to tell you just one thing is hard. Because football could leave a big hole, you have to fill your time in various ways, not just one," he said.

"And also have more fun, travel more, watch and play padel, which I really like, and continue to enjoy what I've earned-what we've earned. Because after all it's been 25 years with a lot of sacrifice," he added.

Ronaldo is entering his 24th senior season. He has 976 goals and is chasing 1,000. He plays for Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr.

He tied the knot with long-time partner Georgina Rodriguez last week. He has won five Ballons d'Or, starred for Manchester United and hit his peak at Real Madrid, lifting four Champions League titles across nine years. He also captained Portugal to Euro 2016, the nation's first major trophy.
