Cristiano Ronaldo, 41, is set for a sixth World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
According to SuperDepor.com, he has been named in Portugal’s 2026 squad.
Ronaldo will become, alongside Lionel Messi, one of the first players to reach that milestone.
His most productive World Cup was Russia 2018 with four goals, while in Germany 2006, South Africa 2010, Brazil 2014 and Qatar 2022 he scored one in each.
He has never found the net in a World Cup knockout tie.
All signs point to a different outlook for Portugal and Ronaldo this time, with a squad stacked with talent such as Nuno Mendes, Bruno Fernandes, Joao Neves and Vitinha, making them contenders to reach the latter stages.
Portugal’s best World Cup finish was third in England 1966 with Eusébio starring, and they were fourth in Germany 2006.
At the 2026 tournament they will be in Group K with the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Uzbekistan and Colombia.
