Cristiano Ronaldo remains in Riyadh and is training as normal with Al-Nassr, despite reports of a boycott amid frustration over the January window. Record writes that he has not missed a session and is due to take part in Wednesday training under Jorge Jesus.

The update follows 24 hours of heavy speculation that he had left the capital and skipped training after relations soured with the hierarchy. Al-Nassr face Al-Ittihad on Friday.

While present, Ronaldo is reportedly unhappy with a chaotic January window. He is said to believe Al-Nassr lacked PIF support while direct rivals gained an edge.

Tensions centred on the proposed move of Karim Benzema from Al-Ittihad to league leaders Al-Hilal, who are one point ahead of Al-Nassr. Ronaldo was understood to be incensed by the prospect of the dominant side signing a world-class forward from a rival.

A homecoming to Portugal is not on the table. The current plan points towards MLS in the United States or a final stint in a top European league. As he turns 41 on Thursday, he believes he can still operate above the Portuguese domestic level.

MLS is increasingly attractive, while a return to a Champions League-calibre club remains his ideal scenario if the right offer materialises. His future beyond this season likely lies away from Saudi Arabia, subject to a contract solution.

On the pitch he has 18 goals and three assists in 22 appearances this season. He remains the driving force in Al-Nassr’s attack.
