Al Nassr are close to completing a deal for Chelsea attacker Joao Felix, but the Saudi Pro League side might not be done doing business in west London.

Per Jose Felix Diaz, Al Nassr captain Cristiano Ronaldo wants his club to land Chelsea left-back Marc Cucurella as they bid to clinch the Saudi League title.

After a rough start to his Chelsea career, Cucurella emerged as a crucial player in the final games of the 2023/24 campaign.

Former boss Mauricio Pochettino shifted him into midfield, and the tactical move helped the Blues control counters better and end the season with a flourish.

New head coach Enzo Maresca took his game to the next level last term.

He played a massive role as Chelsea clinched UEFA Champions League football, won the Europa Conference League, and the Club World Cup.

Cucrella played 54 matches for Chelsea, bagging seven goals and four assists. He was also solid defensively.

The 27-year-old is crucial for the Blues, and Chelsea might be reluctant to let him leave.

Not many understand and interpret the inverted role like Cucurella.

His recovery ability helps Chelsea’s press, and it is hard to envisage the Blues sanctioning a Saudi move for the Spanish international.

However, it is also worth noting that Cucurella is entering the final two years of his Chelsea contract.

He turns 28 next year, and the two-time Champions League winners have not started talks over a new contract, or it has not been reported.

Chelsea do not like ageing players or those whose contracts might be running down.

They have struggled to shift players like Ben Chilwell and Raheem Sterling. They will not want a repeat of the same mistake.

The Club World Cup champions might consider a sale next term, especially if potential signing Jorrel Hato shows he can take the mantle.
