Roma and FC Porto changed the terms on Rodrigo Mora and finally seem close to an agreement for €25m now and a clause to buy out the remaining 50 per cent for another €25m.
The negotiations have been dragging on for weeks with very little sign of progress, as they have battled over how to spread out the cost of this total €50m deal.

They had seemed on the verge of an agreement last week for a loan at €10m with option to buy for a further €40m, becoming an obligation if certain conditions were met.
Here is where it all ground to a halt, as Porto wanted the obligation to be practically a guarantee, whereas Roma preferred linking it to Champions League qualification or even the Scudetto.

Now there has been a major breakthrough with multiple sources in Italy and Portugal all confirming the same details.
Roma are ready to purchase half of Mora’s contract for €25m, but have the option to buy FC Porto out of their remaining 50 per cent with another €25m at the end of the season.
If not, then Porto will retain 50 per cent of the future sale fee.
The clubs are now barrelling towards the finish line and hope to get it over the line within days, because Mora is not part of coach Francesco Farioli’s plans.
