According to Diario Do Peixe, Cruzeiro have appointed Portuguese coach Arthur Jorge, previously at Al-Rayyan in Qatar, as their new head coach, replacing Tite after a poor start to the 2026 Brasileirão.

Arthur Jorge won the Brazilian title and the Copa Libertadores with Botafogo. He will arrive in Brazil on Monday and will not be present for the next match.

Assistant Wesley Carvalho will take the team for that game.

Jorge’s backroom staff includes André Cunha and João Cardoso as assistant coaches, Tiago Lopes as fitness coach, and Rodrigo Mira as performance analyst. They will also begin work at the club in the coming days.

Cruzeiro host Santos at the Mineirão on Sunday at 16:00. Santos are 17th with six points, while the hosts are second-bottom on three.
