Cruzeiro owner sets condition to sell Kaio Jorge to Flamengo | OneFootball

Pedro Lourenço, owner of Cruzeiro’s SAF, says he does not intend to sell Kaio Jorge to Flamengo, insisting only a 50 million euro offer, around R$ 311 million, would force a sale.

“If they offered 50 million, I would sell, but I had no intention of selling and I am not going to sell. We renewed with Kaio until 2030, we are happy, in the meantime we signed Gerson, we have to keep what we have. Flamengo are very strong, otherwise they will weaken us even more.” He told TV Band do Triângulo Mineiro.

At the start of the window, Flamengo made the forward their main target and submitted several bids, but Cruzeiro resisted.

The last offer exceeded 32 million euros, about R$ 199 million, yet talks collapsed and negotiations have now ended.

During the pursuit, Cruzeiro extended Kaio Jorge’s contract to 2030, previously 2028.

Flamengo have moved for other positions, bringing in Vitão for defence and goalkeeper Andrew to compete with Rossi.

Lucas Paquetá remains on their radar, with a decisive meeting between Flamengo and West Ham scheduled for Friday 16.
