Cruzeiro sacked Tite after a 3-3 draw with Vasco on Sunday 15, and, according to Central da Toca, have moved for Artur Jorge, ex-Botafogo.
The Belo Horizonte club sent an official offer within hours of first contact, and are negotiating the Portuguese coach’s release clause.
Artur Jorge is at Al Rayyan (CAT) with a buyout between 5 and 6 million euros, around R$ 30–36 million. His salary is about R$ 3.2 million.
In the Vasco game, Cruzeiro failed to break the visitors’ defence despite a man advantage at the Mineirão.
While also tracking Filipe Luís, there has been no progress with the former Flamengo coach, who does not intend to take a Brazilian job now as he focuses on Europe. He left Flamengo on 3 March after an 8-0 win over Madureira in the Campeonato Carioca, and the club swiftly hired Portuguese coach Leonardo Jardim, who worked at Cruzeiro in 2025.
