Crystal Palace have announced the news that highly-rated midfielder Shanade Hopcroft has left the club.

The Eagles revealed the news via a post on their official club website this morning.

The 28-year-old leaves the South Londoners at the end of her contract. She previously penned a short-term extension to her terms at the start of the season.

Hopcroft joined Crystal Palace in summer 2023 after leaving capital rivals London City Lionesses. The midfielder played a starring role as The Eagles won the Barclays WSL2 title in 2023/2024, along with a long-awaited promotion to the Barclays Women’s Super League. Hopcroft’s top tier game-time was limited with the player having some rotten luck with injuries. She was able to turn out for the club in the Barclays Women’s Super League on just three occasions.

The midfielder has been a regular in the Crystal Palace side this season and has been in good form. She has helped the team to gradually get their season back on track after an initial slow start to the campaign. She leaves South London off the back of Crystal Palace’s three-match winning run in Barclays WSL2.

Hopcroft’s next career move is not yet known, however, she will not be short of offers for her services.
