Crystal Palace believe that only Liverpool may attempt to sign Marc Guehi in the January transfer window, per Sky Sports.
The Eagles feel that the other major European clubs interested in the England international are only looking to sign him as a free agent next summer.
Liverpool came close to sealing a deal for Guehi on deadline day of the summer window, but Palace blocked the move at the last moment as Oliver Glasner was determined to keep his captain at Selhurst Park.
The centre-back was disappointed with the situation, but with his contract expiring in the summer, he can hope to join a top club in 2026.
Real Madrid and Barcelona have been credited with an interest in the 25-year-old, while Bayern Munich are also said to be keen.
However, Palace believe that only Liverpool could try to sign Guehi in the winter transfer window.
Arne Slot’s side look in need of defensive reinforcements after enduring a challenging start to the season.
The Merseyside titans lost Giovanni Leoni to a long-term injury while there is uncertainty around the future of Ibrahima Konate, whose contract at Anfield will expire in the summer.
Guehi has been earning rave reviews with his performances since joining Palace from Chelsea in 2021 for an £18 million fee.
He has made 173 appearances across all competitions, scoring nine goals and creating seven assists.
Guehi has also been instrumental in helping Palace make a positive start this season, starting 10 top-flight matches and making three direct goal contributions.
