Crystal Palace could have Ismaila Sarr and Eddie Nketiah back in contention for Thursday’s maiden UEFA Europa League fixture against Polish champions Lech Poznan at Selhurst Park.

According to Goal.com, Pierre Sage confirmed both forwards have trained with the squad this week and are candidates to feature in the league phase opener.

Sarr, last season’s top scorer, has not played competitively this term because of injury. Nketiah started the opening three fixtures but missed last week’s home games, so their availability would be a timely lift.

Sage described their week’s work as encouraging, noting they look sharp ahead of matchday one.

Dean Henderson and Jean-Philippe Mateta remain out. Sage hopes both can return after the upcoming international break.

Off the pitch, Henderson has signed a new long-term contract through 2030, with the manager highlighting his captain’s leadership and influence around the group.

Palace now focus on making a positive start in Europe, with the possibility of reinforcements in attack for a landmark night in south London.
