Crystal Palace have revealed the news that Katie Stengel has joined American National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) club NJ/NY Gotham FC.

The Eagles announced the player’s Selhurst Park departure via a post on their official club website this evening.

Stengel joined Crystal Palace last summer ahead of the club’s debut season in the Barclays Women’s Super League. The player went on to make 26 appearances for the South Londoners in all competitions, although she was unable to help keep the club in the English top flight.

With Crystal Palace now preparing for life back in Barclays WSL2, it has been revealed that Stengel has joined NWSL club NJ/NY Gotham FC. She returns to the club where she previously enjoyed two spells between 2023 and 2024.

After completing her NJ/NY Gotham FC return, Stengel said “I’d like to thank Yael Averbuch West, Juan Carlos Amorós and the entire staff for welcoming me back. What an amazing full-circle moment to be given a chance to enjoy playing for this incredible club once again. I hope to help the team in its search for yet another title.”

Stengel is the seventh player to leave Crystal Palace since the club were relegated back to Barclays WSL2 at the end of last season.
