Crystal Palace have been handed a major injury boost after Ismaila Sarr was passed fit to return against Liverpool.

Sarr has missed Palace's last two games with a hamstring issue suffered during the 3-0 win over Aston Villa before the international break.

Yeremy Pino, who came off at half-time during last weekend's 2-1 win over West Ham, is also reportedly back in training.

The Spanish winger complained of pain in his knee and was treated on the pitch as the half-time whistle blew at the London Stadium.

Eagles boss Oliver Glasner said after the game that he was unsure how serious the injury was, but it now appears that Pino will be in contention to play against Premier League leaders Liverpool.

News of Sarr's return comes as Palace look to extend their 17-game unbeaten run at home to Arne Slot’s Reds, who have made a perfect start to their title defence having lost to Saturday’s opponents 3-2 on penalties in the Community Shield following a lively 2-2 draw at Wembley last month.

Palace's squad has been stretched thin in the early stages of the new season, with key players such as Adam Wharton, Daichi Kamada and Sarr all spending time out injured.

However, with the trio now back to fitness, Glasner has a near full complement of players to pick from, with back-up goalkeeper Walter Benitez and long-term absentees Chadi Riad and Cheick Doucoure the only ones not in contention against Liverpool.

It remains to be seen whether Glasner will select Romain Esse in his matchday squad after the 20-year-old was left out against West Ham.

Esse was criticised after being substituted early for his performance against former club Millwall in the Carabao Cup last week, and Glasner opted not to select him against West Ham, saying there were other players in better shape.

The youngster responded with a well-taken goal for Palace's Under-21s against Leeds on Monday, but his immediate first-team future remains unclear.
