Crystal Palace loanee Guessand clinches unique double after Europa and Conference League triumphs | OneFootball

Evann Guessand has made a unique piece of history after becoming the first player to win two European trophies in the same season.

Guessand was a late substitute asCrystal Palace beat Rayo Vallecano 1-0 on Wednesday night to win the Europa Conference League.

The Ivorian replaced Yeremy Pino for the final 10 minutes in Leipzig as Oliver Glasner's side secured European success.

Guessandsigned for Crystal Palace on loan from Aston Villa in the January transfer window. The 24-year-old had started the season at Villa Park, where he made seven appearances in the Europa League.

Unai Emery's team won theEuropa League last week after thrashing SC Freiburg 3-0 in the final, a victory which secured Guessand a winner's medal.

After Palace's trophy triumph in midweek, Guessand has made history after winning the Europa League and the Conference League in the same season.

He scored three goals in 13 appearances for both clubs across the two competitions.
