Pierre Sage has confirmed Cheick Doucouré is back in training and could return to Crystal Palace’s squad against Ipswich Town on Saturday.
Doucouré had been in contention to feature in the 3-0 Carabao Cup win over Middlesbrough but illness delayed his return following a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
The midfielder has now trained on consecutive days, though Sage says Palace will make a final assessment following Friday’s session.
“Cheick trained yesterday and this morning,” Sage said. “All will be good for him. He was a little ill, but no, he’s fine.
“We’ll see tomorrow because of the fatigue from playing Saturday and Tuesday night, so we have to check tomorrow.
“Today went well, but tomorrow will be better. Until then we cannot give an accurate list.”
There was less positive news on Ismaïla Sarr, who will remain unavailable for the visit of Ipswich and is yet to resume first-team training.
“It’s the same situation,” Sage explained. “He’s not with the team for the moment. I thought he could be with us in training on Monday, but it was not the case.
“We expect him next Monday to start training with the first team. We want him on the pitch.”
