Manager Pierre Sage has been keeping tabs on players from Ligue 1 having managed Lyon and Lens before moving to the Premier League.

Danois is now on his radar despite scoring just three goals and one assist in 56 games in the French top-flight.

The 22-year-old France youth international is a mesmerising dribbler, with his ability to beat his marker a quality the Palace boss admires in attackers.

The Eagles had Danois on their radar in the winter transfer window and could be finally getting their man this summer.

Hull City had a bid rejected last month and it is unclear whether they have plans to return with an improved offer.

Bournemouth had two bids rejected for the attacker last summer while Newcastle United also made a move for him earlier this summer.

Lyon, Lille, Rennes and clubs in the Bundesliga are also monitoring the Frenchman, but it appears Palace are set to win the race to sign him.

They have signed Zavier Gozo, Anan Khalaili, Dwight McNeil, Oscar Mingueza, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Evann Guessand (on loan) this summer.
