Crystal Palace are keen on signing Southampton midfielder Mateus Fernandes this summer.

According to Alan Nixon, the FA Cup winners are eyeing a quick deal to bring the 20-year-old to the club for next season.

The Saints have suffered relegation to the Championship, so will naturally have top flight clubs taking a closer look at some of their most promising talent.

Fernandes joined the Saints last summer from Sporting Clube de Portugal, and has made 35 appearances in the Premier League so far this season.

Crystal Palace are considering a deal to sign Fernandes from Southampton following their historic FA Cup triumph last weekend.

The Eagles are now preparing for a Europa League campaign next season, and will need to increase their strength in depth in order to compete on two fronts.
