Crystal Palace are pushing to sign French centre-back Oumar Solet (26) from Serie A side Udinese following Joel Ordóñez’s (22) failed medical with the Eagles, according to L’Equipe. The outlet understands that Crystal Palace have pulled the plug on the Ordóñez deal with Club Brugge. The Ecuador international, who sustained a foot injury during the 2026 World Cup, failed his medical.

In light of this development, Palace have resorted to pursue an alternative centre-back target in Solet. The Eagles are expected to submit a bid – between €25m and €30m – to their Italian counter-parts. Solet has entered the final months of his Udinese deal, but his contract could be extended by a further year. Solet would be the second French centre-back to join Palace this summer, as the Eagles notably signed Axel Disasi on loan from Chelsea.
