Crystal Palace reignite Evann Guessand loan interest | OneFootball

Crystal Palace have reignited interest in taking Aston Villa forward Evann Guessand on loan, with contact made with the 25-year-old’s representatives in recent days after initially deciding against a move earlier in the summer.

The Athletic has previously reported Guessand is available to leave Villa this summer. Palace are among several clubs exploring a loan, while Villa are looking to add in attack following the departures of Morgan Rogers and Jadon Sancho, and with Leon Bailey in protracted talks to join Hull City.

Guessand spent the second half of last season on loan at Selhurst Park. After Oliver Glasner’s exit, Palace allowed a 31 May deadline to sign the Ivory Coast international for £28 million to pass.

He returned for pre-season aiming to convince Unai Emery he merited another chance and hoped to be used in a more familiar central role. The forward, who joined Villa from Nice last August, has featured in friendlies during the club’s tour of Indonesia.

Guessand made 14 appearances for Palace last season, scoring twice.
