Crystal Palace have decided to keep manager Oliver Glasner in charge for the rest of the season, according to Sky Sports.

Glasner recently revealed he informed Palace chairman Steve Parish in October that he would not sign a new deal, ending months of uncertainty over his long‑term future.

While the Palace board were reportedly caught off guard by the timing of his public announcement, there is currently no appetite to dismiss a manager who led the club to FA Cup success last term.

However, Glasner has been forthright in criticising the club’s lack of investment, suggesting he and his players have felt ‘abandoned’ at times.

Tension over recruitment, missed opportunities to strengthen and the impending sale of Marc Guehi to Manchester City all contributed to the sense that the Austrian would leave before the summer.

With the team still fighting on multiple fronts and the season at a delicate stage, Palace’s preference is now stability, with Glasner trusted to turn things around.

Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Sunderland meant that Palace have now gone 10 matches without a win across all competitions, a winless run that began after they won three in a row at the start of December.

Palace have dropped to 13th in the Premier League table, eight points behind the top four, ahead of next Sunday’s London derby against Chelsea.
