Winger, 20, is well thought of at Palace and expected to leave on loan
Crystal Palace are ironing out the final details of a loan deal that would see Malcolm Ebiowei join Oxford on loan.
The 20-year-old winger is understood to have stayed behind from Palace’s pre-season tour of the United States, and the Eagles always planned to consider loan options for Ebiowei for the 2024/25 season.
Standard Sport understands there is confidence an agreement could be reached in the coming days that sees the former England youth international join Oxford, who reached the Championship via the League One play-offs last term.
Ebiowei signed for Palace in 2022 after financial pressure led his former club Derby to offload a number of players in order to raise funds.
Roy Hodgson, Palace manager at the time, described Ebiowei’s performance as “outstanding” after watching him represent Palace’s Under-21s in a match against Monaco in the Premier League International Cup last October.
Ebiowei spent the second half of last season on loan at Belgian side RWD Molenbeek, who — like Palace — are part of John Textor’s Eagle Football Holdings.
The previous season, Ebiowei joined Hull for the second half of the 2022/23 campaign and made 12 appearances. Ebiowei has made five first-team appearances for Palace to date.
