They couldn’t get close to him for most of the game but Crystal Palace defender Daniel Muñoz did get his hands on Erling Haaland’s jersey at half-time in a peculiar moment.

In what was reminiscent of Andre Santos asking former teammate Robin van Persie for his jersey at Old Trafford back in 2012, the Colombian defender seized his moment as the two teams walked off at the break with the score at 1-1.

Judging from the reaction of the home crowd, it was not well received, particularly given Palace’s current plight.

The fact that Eagles went onto lose the game and Haaland scored is only likely to make Muñoz’s actions all the more irritating.

To be fair to him, it will be a collector’s item in years to come!
