According to AS, Spain's CTA will sanction the VAR officials from Girona-Barcelona, played on Monday, and Real Madrid-Real Sociedad on Saturday, both from matchday 24.

The body, chaired by Fran Soto, will apply a neverazo to David Gálvez Rascón, VAR to referee Soto Grado at Montilivi, standing him down until further notice.

Its Technical Commission judged on Tuesday that Echeverri's stamp on Koundé should have been given as a foul. VAR ought to have intervened, and the attacking phase that produced Fran Beltrán's 2-1 should have been disallowed.

Flick and Laporta later complained that the foul was missed and that VAR did not send Soto Grado to the monitor.

Daniel Jesús Trujillo, VAR for Hernández Maeso at the Bernabéu, will receive a lesser punishment, he will be assigned as VAR assistant in his next game. The second penalty by Aramburu on Vinicius was deemed hard to interpret, yet the VAR team should have asked the referee to review it pitchside.
