“Conte didn’t part on the best of terms with Juventus, so there were some problems,” Cuadrado told Gazzetta.

“He didn’t want to let me go. Other clubs came after me, especially abroad, but when I heard Juventus were interested, I told my agent I only wanted to wear black and white.”

Cuadrado ultimately joined Juventus on an initial loan deal with an option to buy, and the Serie A giants made his move permanent at the end of the 2015-16 campaign.

Cuadrado won several trophies in Turin and reached the Champions League Final in 2017.

“I became a Juventus fan. My mother still lives there, and my children were born in Turin. Lucas is six, Lucia is nine. I spent eight magical seasons, and I won five league titles and several cups,” he said.

“Compared to the Fiorentina version of Cuadrado, I was more complete and, above all, mature. The only regret remains the Champions League Final loss in Cardiff.”

The Colombian ruined his relationship with part of the Juventus fanbase in 2023 when he joined Inter on a free transfer.

Juventus refused to extend Cuadrado’s expiring contract a few weeks before his move to Inter.

Cuadrado ‘wanted to stay at Juventus’

“Allegri wanted to keep me and I had no doubts. I wanted to stay,” Cuadrado said.

“Then, the management changed, the coach left and I was left waiting. I was waiting for a call, but I read on social media that my time at Juventus was over. I would have preferred a call or a message. It was sad, but this is what football is about. The fans will always be in my heart.”

Cuadrado, who joined Pisa on a free transfer earlier this summer, briefly spoke about the imminent Derby d’Italia between Juventus and Inter.

“Juventus have strengthened the team with great players, but Inter are the strongest, even if they didn’t win anything last season,” the winger said.
