Real Madrid presented Marc Cucurella at Valdebebas on Monday, the penultimate unveiling of their new recruits, following Carlos Espí’s presentation on Sunday.

According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, Florentino Pérez attended as the 28-year-old signed a contract to 30 June 2032, with Madrid paying 55 million euros plus 5 million in variables for the Spain international left-back.

Cucurella received the customary gifts, a Santiago Bernabéu replica, a watch and a shirt bearing his name and No 17. Club honorary president José Martínez ‘Pirri’ was also present.

He described it as a proud and very special day for him and his family, said the summer felt long, and called it an honour to wear the shirt of the best club in the world. He hopes this can be a successful spell with many trophies.

Cucurella spoke of the Bernabéu’s aura and its comebacks, recalling the last one he watched while with the national team, won by team-mates Dani Carvajal, Joselu and Nacho. Having suffered the stadium as a visitor, he wants to experience that magic from within.
