Cuéllar has been left out of Grêmio’s squad for Sunday’s Gre-Nal at Beira-Rio, in the first phase of the Campeonato Gaúcho.
Head coach Luís Castro has named a 24-man group for the derby. According to GZH, the Colombian midfielder was omitted for technical reasons, with Riquelme and Aravena also not included.
Cuéllar has featured only once this season, the 1-0 defeat to São José when the Portuguese coach selected an alternative side. He was not involved in the win over Guarany in Bagé.
Balbuena, Kannemann, Villasanti, Monsalve, Pavon and Braithwaite are unavailable as they recover from injuries or complete their return.
The likely XI features Weverton, then Marcos Rocha, Noriega, Wagner Leonardo and Marlon, followed by Arthur, Tiaguinho, Tetê, Cristaldo and Amuzu, and Carlos Vinícius.
Gre-Nal 449 kicks off at 20:00 on Sunday at Beira-Rio. Grêmio lead Group B with nine points and aim to retain top spot to secure home advantage in the knockout phase.
