Cutrone joins AC Monza on loan from Como until 30 June 2026, with an obligation to buy that could trigger if Monza are promoted to Serie A. The 28-year-old Milan academy product arrives with questions over momentum.
According to Superdeporte, he returned to Como after a spell at Parma that brought 17 appearances and one goal this season. The switch offers a fresh chance, yet it also feels like a backward step.
Nearly a decade ago he lit up San Siro with 18 goals in his first senior campaign for Milan. Moves followed to Wolverhampton, Fiorentina, Valencia and Empoli, before finding stability at Como.
There he produced his most consistent form of late, scoring 14 and supplying five assists to help Como return to the top flight. Even so, irregularity has lingered and the Parma stint did little to attract Serie A heavyweights.
Monza operate in Serie B, a tier below the elite, so this is another drop for a forward once tipped to lead the line in Serie A and perhaps return to the national side. It could yet be a turning point.
Monza are banking on his experience and penalty-box instincts to power an immediate promotion push. Cutrone’s task is to show he can still be the spearhead Italian football expected after those early flashes.
He was among three early signings under Miguel Ángel Corona at Valencia, a prelude to what would become the club’s most inauspicious spell.
