Czech Republic midfielder warns of Lamine Yamal danger ahead of Nations League showdown | OneFootball

Czech Republic midfielder Alex Kral has singled out Lamine Yamal as one of Spain’s biggest threats ahead of their Nations League meeting, while stressing that his side must prepare for the reigning world champions as a whole.

Yamal has been one of Spain’s most influential players during the international break, and Kral has clearly been impressed by what he has seen from the Barcelona star.

The Czech midfielder particularly highlighted the teenager’s ability to beat opponents in individual battles.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference (h/t Mundo Deportivo), Kral described Yamal as operating at an “exceptional level” and explained why his qualities could make the difference against the Czech Republic.

“We see just how exceptional Lamine Yamal is in every match. He’s very good in one-on-one situations.

“We don’t know whether he will play this Saturday or not, but we’re preparing to face a full-strength side.

“We’re focusing on ourselves, on how we want to play, and we’re really looking forward to playing against Spain, because it’s a great test for us,” he analysed.

Notably, the uncertainty over Yamal’s involvement comes after the Barcelona forward started Spain’s previous two matches against England and Croatia.

Czech Republic expect a major test

Kral made clear that Spain’s strength extends well beyond Yamal. The Czech Republic will face a side packed with elite talent, giving them an opportunity to measure themselves against the current world champions.

“For us, it’s a huge motivation because it’s the best test we could possibly face.

“We’re really looking forward to it; we want to show what we’re made of and, of course, we want our coach to see it too, as that’s a real boost for our team,” he added.

Speaking further, Kral believes the Czech Republic will need collective discipline to have any chance of producing a surprise result.

“When you want to beat this sort of opponent, you have to be perfect, because everyone makes mistakes.

“They make mistakes too, and we’ll have to capitalise on those opportunities,” concluded the footballer.
