Roma sporting director Tony D’Amico was in Milan on Wednesday.
Accompanied by his agent Pietro Scala, the executive had several meetings.
Among them was a fortuitous one with representatives from Brighton, also in Milan to try to land Atalanta defender Ahanor.
Matt O’Riley, a long-time favorite of the sporting director and Gasperini, plays for the English club.
The Dane, coming off a somewhat unusual last season (signed on loan from Marseille to replace the departing Rabiot, returned to England in January after 15 games and one goal) could become a target this summer, writes Stefano Carina in Il Messaggero.
Roma’s objective is clear: ahead of the Champions League, they want to raise the squad’s quality. Two wingers in attack, a winger, and a midfielder.
And this is regardless of the possible/probable departure of Koné (and/or Soulé). Because while transfers are inevitable from a FFP perspective, Gasperini’s ambitions remain unchanged. And the Friedkins are determined to please him.
