Serie A side Bologna sold Dan Ndoye to Nottingham Forest in the summer transfer window and this came after Napoli made consistent attempts to land the winger.
The Switzerland international has already opened his account for Nottingham Forest but there is still intrigue about how the move came about.
His intermediary Lodovico Spinosi spoke to Radio CRC about the transfer and revealed that the move happened because Napoli took some time to complete a deal.
He said, via IlNapolista, highlighting that the Partenopei tried to sign the winger in January: “Manna tried to sign him in January, and at that point in time, Nottingham didn’t yet exist. After that, there was another opportunity this summer, but the process took too long, and in the end, when a financially high-level club like the English club presents itself, everything suddenly changes.”
He revealed that Napoli decided to focus on other players and this delay led to Nottingham Forest making a decisive attempt for the winger.
“Napoli completed the deals for Noa Lang, Beukema, and Lucca first. I understand the club’s difficulties, but something different could have been done to bring the player to Naples. The timing is certainly questionable. If negotiations with Napoli had begun twenty days or a month earlier, the outcome could have been different.”
Napoli signed Noa Lang and have been already using Scott McTominay and Kevin de Bruyne in the wide channels. This eliminates the need for a pure winger but everything shows that Antonio Conte has enough in his side to not miss the presence of Ndoye.
