Dani Budesca steps up to Segunda after Villarreal renewal, joins Córdoba on loan | OneFootball

According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, Villarreal confirmed on Wednesday that Dani Budesca has joined Córdoba on loan for the 2026/27 LaLiga Hypermotion season, a day after extending his contract to 30 June 2031.

The move is intended to give the right back sustained minutes at a higher level following his rise with the B team.

Born in Murcia on 27 May 2006, Dani Budesca López arrived from Real Murcia at 11 and came through the Villarreal academy to reach the second team.

At 20 he now embarks on his first campaign in Segunda, a significant step in the club’s plan for his development. In Córdoba he will face seasoned professionals each week, with a view to returning to Vila-real to compete for higher targets.

Villarreal view him as a modern, rounded right back who can influence both boxes. His athletic output, strength in defensive duels and willingness to join attacks have underpinned his rapid ascent.

His progress has also been recognised with Spain youth selections. The long-term renewal keeps Villarreal in control while he continues his education away from Miralcamp.

Further exits are expected, with the loan of Willy Kambwala to Osasuna for 2026/27 set to be confirmed on Thursday. The French centre back aims to secure minutes and continuity before returning to Villarreal.
