Daniel Bauer offers upbeat update on Mohamed Amoura after suspension | OneFootball

Daniel Bauer has praised Mohamed Amoura’s response to his recent suspension as Wolfsburg prepare to host Borussia Dortmund.

According to BuLi News, the Algerian is set to return to the squad after he was left out of last weekend’s game in Köln for disciplinary reasons.

Bauer said Amoura delivered his best training week since he took charge and that, if the forward sustains that level, he will bring the team a lot of joy this weekend. He added that a brief hug on Monday convinced him the player still has the fire and the drive to turn things around.

Amoura is Wolfsburg’s top scorer in the Bundesliga this season with seven goals. The 25-year-old was also the only Wolfsburg player to reach double figures last term.

He scored his first goal since returning from the AFCON in a 3-1 defeat at Mainz on matchday 19.
