The World Cup starts on 11 June, with Noah Okafor, Gabriel Gudmundsson, Brenden Aaronson and Ao Tanaka involved. Farke says it could push business late.

The window opens on 15 June. Fixtures follow on 19 June, with the opener, Manchester United meetings and the Christmas run to watch.

PSR assessments end on 30 June, then Squad Cost Ratio begins on one July. Non-European clubs can spend up to 85% of revenue on on-pitch costs, European sides are capped at 70%.

Leeds look marginally worse off short term but better under SCR over time. Despite the 49ers’ outlay, they are not on track to breach PSR, so June arrivals likely dip.

On one July the contracts of Karl Darlow, Sam Byram, Alex Cairns and Illan Meslier expire. Darlow is expected to get talks, Byram and Meslier almost certainly will not. Ethan Ampadu, Pascal Struijk, Brenden Aaronson, Ilia Gruev, Joel Piroe and Lukas Nmecha enter their final year.

Four July marks three years of Farke. Without a renewal, he enters his final 12 months.

The World Cup ends on 19 July, business should accelerate. Pre-season fixtures: Wrexham on 25 July, Sunderland on 30 July, Liverpool on two August, RB Leipzig on the weekend of eight August, Manchester United on 12 August.

The window closes at 11pm on one September.
