Daniel Farke has made nine changes for Leeds United’s FA Cup fifth round tie at home to Norwich City, with only captain Ethan Ampadu and left back Gabi Gudmundsson retained from the 1-0 loss to Sunderland.
According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, the overhaul includes a brand new front line. Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Joe Rodon are not involved, while Facundo Buonanotte and Sam Byram are on the bench.
On Friday, Farke said winger Noah Okafor remained the club’s sole injury absentee after a hamstring problem in the fourth round at Birmingham City, with an initial two to four week timeframe. He added he was optimistic of having everyone else available but would avoid unnecessary risks, with Premier League survival the priority.
He made eight changes for the third round at Derby County, then six for the fourth round trip to Birmingham City.
Today’s match is Leeds’ third at Elland Road in nine days after 1-0 defeats to Manchester City on Saturday and Sunderland on Tuesday. They have a week off after this game before next Sunday’s visit to Crystal Palace.
