Ahead of Leeds United’s return to Elland Road on Saturday afternoon to face Arsenal, Daniel Farke has provided an update on the availability of his squad.
The Whites go into the West Yorkshire encounter on the back of a strong draw away to Everton and a memorable victory over Fulham in their last home fixture.
Following the Merseyside trip, Farke expects to have a largely unchanged squad for the Gunners, with Jaka Bijol and Lukas Nmecha out for the match and questions over Gabriel Gudmundsson's involvement, but Daniel James will be back available for selection.
“Jaka will definitely also miss the Arsenal game,” the boss said. “He is progressing in his rehab. We hope to have him back on the other side of the Nottingham game.
“We will also miss Lukas Nmecha. He reported during the warmup for Everton some problems with his hamstring, and this was the reason I did not bring him on. We have assessed him, and he will definitely miss the Arsenal game, but we hope that we have him back for Nottingham.
“Gabi Gudmundsson has progressed further, much better than expected. He is not in team training yet, but we have two more days, so there is a chance that he makes it for this game.”
The manager also provided an update on the recovery of winger James, saying he is back in team training and therefore available for squad selection.
“He was out for such a such a long time, but you can see him more or less growing from session to session, from day to day. It is good to have him back.”
